CHICAGO, ILLINOIS - SEPTEMBER 22

AFTER BEING CONTACTED BY THE CHILD'S BIOLOGICAL GRANDPARENTS, THE ELK GROVE VILLAGE, IL-BASED UNITED RISK PARTNERS, INTELLIGENCE AND INVESTIGATIONS DIVISION DECIDED TO TAKE ON THE CASE OF THE MISSING TWO YEAR OLD CHILD, WHO HAD BEEN ABDUCTED BY HIS DRUG-ADDICTED BIOLOGICAL FATHER. THE FATHER HAD JUST BEEN RELEASED FROM PRISON AFTER SERVING A 20-YEAR TERM FOR MURDER, AND SUBSEQUENTLY GOT THE CHILD'S MOTHER ADDICTED TO DRUGS. THE MOTHER OVERDOSED AND DIED, AFTER WHICH HER PARENTS PETITIONED THE COURT FOR GUARDIANSHIP OVER THE CHILD. WHILE THE PETITION FOR GUARDIANSHIP WAS BEING HEARD BY THE COOK COUNTY CIRCUIT COURT, THE FATHER REMOVED THE CHILD FROM THE GRANDPARENTS HOME, AFTER WHICH HE AND THE CHILD HAD NOT BEEN HEARD FROM FOR OVER TWO MONTHS. THE POLICE AND THE COURT SYSTEM REFUSED TO HELP, BECAUSE TECHNICALLY NO CRIME HAD BEEN COMMITTED BY THE FATHER. WITH LEGAL GUARDIANSHIP PAPERS IN HAND, THE CHILD'S GRANDPARENTS TURNED TO UNITED RISK PARTNERS AS A LAST RESORT TO GET THEIR GRANDCHILD BACK. AFTER TWO WEEKS OF INTENSE STREET INVESTIGATION, URP INVESTIGATORS FOUND THAT THE FATHER WAS BACK IN JAIL ON A PAROLE VIOLATION, AND HAD STASHED THE CHILD WITH A 20-YEAR-OLD GANG MEMBER AND HIS GIRLFRIEND IN A NEIGHBORHOOD ON THE FAR SOUTH SIDE OF CHICAGO KNOWN FOR NARCOTICS AND GANG ACTIVITY. URP INVESTIGATORS, CHICAGO AND SUBURBAN POLICE OFFICERS OBTAINED ENTRY INTO THE GANG MEMBER'S APARTMENT, RECOVERED THE CHILD, AND IMMEDIATELY TRANSPORTED THE CHILD BACK TO THE GRANDPARENT'S SUBURBAN HOME.
